New Delhi. Efforts to improve Delhi’s traffic system have intensified. Delhi Transport Department has prepared a new traffic plan to get rid of pollution. Under this plan, if you do not get your vehicles checked for pollution, a challan of Rs 10,000 can also be issued. For this, Delhi Transport Department will now keep an eye through cameras and will also send e-challan. Under this plan, Delhi Traffic Police and Transport Department have installed cameras at 4 petrol pumps in the capital. According to Delhi Transport Department, this trial has been successful and in the next few months, cameras will also be installed at 500 petrol pumps of Delhi.
Now e-challan will be sent to vehicle owners who do not get their vehicles pollution checked (PUC) in Delhi. If you do not get the pollution test done within 3 hours of sending the information, then an e-challan will be sent. According to Delhi Transport Department, after 4 petrol pumps, cameras will be installed at 100 petrol pumps across Delhi in the first phase. From the numbers of all the vehicles coming to the petrol pump, it will be known whether the vehicles have been tested for pollution or not.

Preparation for strictness on vehicles in Delhi
After this, Delhi Transport Department will give three hours time to the vehicle owner and if the investigation is not done within these three hours, an e-challan will be sent. The Transport Department had started this investigation last year. During this period, more than 20 thousand vehicles were inspected. Investigation revealed that the PUC certificate of 16 percent of the vehicles coming to the petrol pump was not valid.
After this, Delhi Transport Department has now started preparations to install digital screens with cameras all over Delhi. After reading the number plate of the vehicle, complete information about the pollution test of that vehicle will be visible. If it is red then PUC will not be considered valid and if it is green signal then PUC will be considered valid. The petrol pump employee or the employee of the pollution testing center located there will ask the vehicle owner to get an investigation done in this regard. Even after this, if the driver does not get the test done, his e-challan will be issued after the next three hours.
