Larsen and Toubro Limited (L&T) said on Saturday (April 26, 2025), “The construction of India’s longest rail tunnel between Devprayag and Jansu in Uttarakhand faced several challenges, including moments when it seemed that the tunnel could collapse and the entire project could be in danger.” The tunnel project director Rakesh Arora told PTI, “The tunnel called Shakti was inside the boring machine (TBM) tunnel, when he felt a strong flow of water at a rate of about 1,500 liters per minute from each direction.”
