Chandigarh, the capital of Punjab and Haryana, got relief after a power crisis for more than 36 hours. Electricity workers went on strike here. Due to this the power supply was interrupted. Late in the evening, the employees of the electricity department withdrew the strike. Power supply was restored in most areas of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.

The battery of the mobile has started running out, due to which people are worried. Despite the implementation of ESMA, the electricity workers are not ready to end the strike. Taking cognizance of the matter, the Punjab and Haryana High Court had asked the Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department to appear before it. On the strike of the electricity workers, the Chandigarh High Court was told that by 10 pm, the electricity of the entire city would be restored. So far 80 percent power has been restored. The technical wing of the army is busy in restoring power.
The High Court has made it clear that this matter is outright contempt, when the matter is pending in the High Court, it is completely wrong for the employees of the Electricity Department to go on strike like this. The High Court has adjourned the hearing of the matter till Thursday, saying that first the electricity of the entire city should be restored, further orders will be given tomorrow. In such a situation, the administration has started action under ESMA to end the strike of electricity workers. Four leaders of electricity workers’ organizations have also been detained by the police.
Police detained senior member of National Co-ordination Committee of Electricity Employees and Engineers and National Vice President of Electricity Employees Federation of India Subhash Lamba along with UT Powerman Union President Dhyan Chand and General Secretary Gopal Dutt Joshi by taking him to Sood Dharamshala in Sector-22. took in. The Chandigarh administration had sought help from the army. The team of Military Engineering Service has reached Chandigarh from the Western Command Chandimandir. This technical team is working on the power supply. However, it is being told that it will take time to completely restore the power supply.
