Raipur (Naiduniya Representative). Chemotherapy is available in 17 district hospitals of Chhattisgarh. In this, 1047 cancer patients have benefited in one and a half years. Let us inform that under the ‘Longevity Ward’ scheme of the National Health Mission, day-care chemotherapy facility is being operated in 17 district hospitals of the state. In this, this necessary facility is also being given to cancer patients of Naxal affected areas and tribal areas of the state.
According to the Health Department, in the last one and a half years, 4598 people have been screened for cancer in 17 district hospitals with chemotherapy facilities. In this, 2063 patients have been screened in Jagdalpur District Hospital, 810 in Dhamtari, 482 in Gariaband, 335 in Jashpur, 329 in Surajpur. Whereas 242 in Raipur, 104 in Janjgir, 65 in Kanker, 47 in Bilaspur, 39 in Balod, 33 in Bemetara, 23 in Balrampur, 14 in Ambikapur, 12 in Dantewada district hospital have been screened for cancer.
Chemotherapy of patients in district hospitals
According to the Health Department, 516 in Jagdalpur District Hospital, 296 in Jashpur, 86 in Ambikapur, 37 in Surajpur, 24 in Kanker, 21 in Janjgir, 17 in Raipur, 15 in Dhamtari, 13 in Narayanpur, 12 in Bemetara, three in Balrampur, Chemotherapy has been done for two patients each in Bilaspur, Gariaband and Dantewada and one patient in Balod district hospital.
Chemotherapy is being done free of cost to patients in 4 district hospitals Dantewada, Narayanpur, Bastar and Kanker of remote Bastar division and Balrampur, Jashpur, Surguja and Surajpur district hospitals of Surguja division. This facility has also been started in district hospitals of Balod, Bemetara, Bilaspur, Gariaband, Janjgir, Korba, Mungeli, Raipur and Dhamtari. Chemotherapy will be made available in all district hospitals of the state in a phased manner.
Free facilities will be provided
