New Delhi. BCCI Chief Selector Chetan Sharma has resigned from his post only 40 days after assuming office. Chetan was given the post of BCCI Chief Selector for the second time on 7 January 2023 but had to resign after 40 days of his tenure. Chetan Sharma was in controversies regarding the sting operation for the past several days. Since the sting operation came to light, questions were being raised on him continuously. Chetan has submitted his resignation to the Secretary of the Cricket Board of India, Jai Shah, which has also been accepted.
Players were accused of taking injections
Chetan Sharma was under the scanner for a sting operation shown on TV. He allegedly spoke on TV about the selection of players and the players taking injections to stay fit. In the sting, he used to say a lot of controversial things about Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah. There was also a dispute between him and the team regarding taking Jasprit Bumrah in the T20 series against Australia. He had claimed that players used to resort to injections even after being 80 to 85 percent physically fit, so that they could return to the pitch quickly. Chetan had also made many revelations about coach Rahul Dravid.
BCCI approved
After this sting, Chetan Sharma was constantly in the circle of questions. Today he has resigned from his post and his resignation has also been accepted by the BCCI. Now it has to be seen who the BCCI selects on this vacant post.
