Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is in trouble in the MUDA land scam case. Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot has given permission to prosecute Siddaramaiah. Sources said that activist TJ Abraham had urged the Governor to give permission to file a complaint against the CM in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land allotment case. Governor Thaawar Chand Gehlot has given permission to prosecute him on the basis of the complaint filed by the RTI activist.
The governor will also meet the complainant
According to the information, the Governor has given Abraham an appointment at 3 pm today. According to sources in the Chief Minister’s Office, no official information has been received from the Raj Bhavan yet regarding approval for prosecution.

Let us tell you that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is accused of transferring a piece of land acquired by MUDA in the name of his wife. It is worth noting that his wife was given land in a posh area of Mysore and its market value is much higher than his own land. BJP had recently taken out a padayatra from Bengaluru to Mysore demanding the resignation of the CM in this matter.
The Governor had issued a show cause notice
Based on a petition filed by advocate-activist T J Abraham, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot had issued a show cause notice on July 26, directing the chief minister to respond to the allegations levelled against him and explain why prosecution should not be allowed against him. On August 1, the Karnataka government had advised the governor to withdraw the show cause notice issued to the chief minister. It had accused the governor of gross misuse of constitutional office.
The matter has also gone to court
A special court has deferred the hearing of two private complaints against Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in connection with the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) alternative plot allotment scam to August 20. Abraham’s plea will be heard on August 21. The court is hearing a case regarding the admissibility of a private complaint filed by two activists Snehamoyee Krishna and T J Abraham.
The case pertains to the MUDA scam in which Siddaramaiah’s wife got an alternative plot in a posh locality for the alleged illegal acquisition of three acres and 16 guntas of agricultural land in Keesrur in Mysuru city. Siddaramaiah has rejected these allegations as baseless.
