Jaipur. The Rajasthan High Court has issued notice to Chief Secretary Sudhanshu Pant and Principal Secretary of Food and Civil Supplies Subir Kumar, under the contempt petition filed by Public Angest Corruption Association. The petitioner’s advocate Poonam Chand Bhandari, Abhinav Bhandari and Dr. T.N. Sharma said that under Section 17 of the Rajasthan Transparency in Public Procurement Act, all the documents related to the government tenders are automatically uploaded and making public on the government website so that the common people can know what the government tenders have been given, what are the conditions and how much amount, but due to corruption, the tender and its process are not put on the website due to corruption.
In this regard, a PIL was filed by the petitioner institution in 2020, under this it was said by the Rajasthan government that all the documents related to the government tenders are already being made public. After the hearing, on 18.08.2023, the petition was disposed of by the High Court, saying that the state government should follow the order of the law.
Advocates of the petitioner institution told the court that the documents related to most tenders of the Food Department have not been displayed on the portal, in this regard, the petitioner institution presented the example of the purchase of this contractor meter measurement related machines in the court that the information of their tender has not been uploaded on the site.
After the hearing, the block bench of Judge Indrajit Singh and Judge Pramil Kumar Mathur of Jaipur Block Peeth of Rajasthan High Court has issued a notice to the Chief Secretary of the State Government Sudhashu Pant and Subir Kumar, Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies Department and sought a reply in 4 weeks. – Special news network
