The video of three children being brutally beaten in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh is going viral. There was an uproar in the area after the video went viral. Hundreds of protesters gathered at Manak Chowk police station in Ratlam to protest against the beating of children. The protesters raised slogans demanding the arrest of the accused. At the same time, the police has now registered the case and has said that strict action will be taken.
As soon as the video of this incident surfaced, tension spread in the city. This video went viral on social media on Thursday night. In the video, a person is seen beating children with slippers, while another person is recording this cruel incident on a mobile phone. The man is abusing small children while accusing them of trying to smoke a cigarette. They can be heard beating them with slippers and forcing them to shout ‘Jai Shri Ram’. He also asks the children for their parents’ mobile number. The video was shot near Amrit Sagar lake in an under-construction amusement park in Ratlam city.
After the video went viral, a wave of anger spread across the city and the protesters started marching towards the police station. As the crowd increased, senior officers including ASP Rakesh Khakha, CSP Satyendra Ghanghoria, SDOP Kishore Patanwala and DSP Ajay Sarwan reached the spot with heavy police force. The police eased the tension by assuring the protesters of prompt and strict action. An FIR has been registered against two unknown people in the case.
ASP Rakesh Khakha said that the video looks at least a month old. He further said that an FIR has been lodged against two unidentified persons on charges of assault, verbal abuse, criminal intimidation and hurting religious sentiments. While police officials have urged citizens to remain calm and allow the investigation to proceed, the cyber cell and local police teams are working hard to identify the accused. He has also promised strict action against the accused. One of the children whose video of beating has gone viral is a six-year-old orphan. His parents died in a road accident some time ago.
