Praveen Khandelwal, National General Secretary of the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT), says that the festival of Holi has infused a new zeal and enthusiasm among the traders across the country including Delhi and has once again awakened new hope for the future of business. . Compared to last year, this year’s Holi festive season, there is an estimated increase of about 50 percent in business across the country. It is estimated that this time business worth more than Rs 50 thousand crore has been done across the country. There is a business potential of Rs 5 thousand crore in Delhi alone.

Goods worth Rs 10 thousand crores used to come from China
Khandelwal said, like previous years, not only the traders but also the common people have completely boycotted Chinese goods. The import of goods related to Holi in the country is approximately Rs 10 thousand crores, which has been absolutely negligible this time. This time in the festive sale of Holi, the traders and customers boycotted the goods made in China and the herbal colors and gulal made only in India, Pichkari, balloons, sandalwood, puja material, garments and other goods are being sold in abundance. There is also strong demand for other products including sweets, dry fruits, gift items, flowers and fruits, clothes, furnishing fabric, grocery, FMCG products, consumer durables.
Hotel industry also benefits
Khandelwal said that this year Holi celebrations are being organized on a large scale across the country including Delhi, due to which people will gather in banquet halls, farm houses, hotels, restaurants and public parks. More than 3 thousand Holi celebrations, big and small, are being organized in Delhi alone. As the festival of Holi approaches, all the wholesale and retail markets of Delhi are fully decorated.

Festival in Delhi on 24th and 25th
Khandelwal said that Holi will be lit in Delhi on March 24 while the festival of colors will be celebrated on March 25. Markets are also seen colored in the colors of Holi. Apart from colorful Gulal and Pichkari, shops are decorated with Gujiya garlands and dry fruits. This time, herbal colours, Abir and Gulal are in highest demand, while the demand for balloons and Pichkari is much higher as compared to the last few years. Pressure spray is available from Rs 100 to Rs 350. Pichkari in the form of tank is available in the price range from Rs 100 to Rs 400. Fancy pipes have also become popular in the market.
