Singapore: A Chinese citizen had killed an Indian-origin man in Singapore. Now, in the case of murder of a person of Indian origin, a court here has convicted a Singaporean citizen of Chinese origin and sentenced him to life imprisonment and 12 strokes of the cane. A Chinese-origin national had killed an Indian-origin national during a fight outside a nightclub in 2019.
The incident happened outside a club
Television news channel News Asia reported that the prosecution had not sought the death penalty. The crime of murder in Singapore is punishable by death or life imprisonment. The incident took place on July 2, 2019, outside the hotel and Naughty Girl Club in the tourist hub area of Orchard Road.
there was a knife on the neck
Convict Tan Sen Yang, 32, has been found guilty of murdering Satish Noel Gobidas, 31, during a fight outside a club in July 2019. Seven people, including Tan, were initially charged with murder with common intention. Satish died due to a knife injury on his neck during the fight.
Indian got 20 years sentence
It should also be mentioned here that a married man of Indian origin was recently convicted of culpable homicide in Singapore. The man was sentenced to 20 years by the court. The accused man had pushed his girlfriend out of anger over her having relations with other men. Due to the push, the girlfriend suffered serious injuries and died. The name of the guilty person is M Krishnan. Krishnan had also beaten his girlfriend. (Language)
