Weather Monsoon Update: Due to monsoon, heavy rains are falling all over India. However, rain is falling intermittently in the country’s capital Delhi. Yesterday, i.e. on Sunday, it rained in many areas of Delhi. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy rains in western Madhya Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan region, Goa and central Maharashtra.
According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon is in its active phase. There is a deep depression in north-eastern Madhya Pradesh. There is a low pressure in south-west Rajasthan. Extremely heavy rains are expected in western Madhya Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, Gujarat, Konkan region, Goa and central Maharashtra, for which a rail alert has been issued.

Rain alert in Delhi
There is a possibility of light rain in Delhi-NCR on Monday. The maximum temperature may come down to 34 and minimum to 27 degrees. Rainfall may increase on August 6. A yellow alert for light to moderate rain has been issued on August 6 and 7. The maximum temperature may remain between 33 to 34 degrees and the minimum temperature may remain between 26 to 27 degrees. Rainfall will again become light on August 8 and 9. It will remain cloudy.
Heavy rain expected in the mountains
It is raining heavily in the mountains i.e. Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The rain is taking a fierce form in the hilly areas. News of landslides are coming in continuously. The risk of floods has increased due to heavy rains and cloudbursts in Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains till August 7 here.
This will be the condition of other states
Heavy rains have disrupted life in Maharashtra too. IMD has issued a ‘red alert’ for Palghar, Pune and Satara districts. Most parts of the country including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Kolkata are currently receiving heavy rains due to monsoon.
Also, the Meteorological Department has said that light to moderate rains with thunder, lightning and strong winds may occur at some places in East Madhya Pradesh, South-West Haryana, North-West Telangana, Gujarat region, Saurashtra and Kutch, North Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, South Interior Karnataka. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain in Kerala, Leh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bihar, South Gangetic West Bengal, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
