The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in 23 states of the country today. IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rains at different places in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal today. About 12 cm of rain is expected in these states today.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rains may occur at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, East Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra. About 7 cm of rain is expected in these states. While along with this, there is a possibility of thunderstorms with lightning at isolated places in Rajasthan.
Heavy rain alert from Rajasthan to UP
According to the weather bulletin of IMD, the monsoon trough is currently moving from sea level to east-south-east through Bikaner, Rohtak, Fatehgarh, Churk, Purulia, Contai to the north-east Bay of Bengal. At the same time, cyclonic circulation is spread up to 5.8 km above sea level over north-east Rajasthan and adjoining areas. It is tilted towards south-west with height. While cyclonic circulation is spread up to 7.6 km above sea level over south-east Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas. Cyclonic circulation is spread up to 1.5 km above sea level over north-east Assam. Due to its effect, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in these areas.

The weather will be stormy at sea
According to IMD, many parts of Arabian Sea, Gujarat coast as well as South Kerala coast and adjoining Lakshadweep area, Gulf of Mannar, Sri Lanka coast, some parts of Bay of Bengal are likely to experience winds at a speed of 35 kmph to 45 kmph today. Which can increase to 55 kmph. Along with this, winds are likely to blow at a speed of 45 kmph to 55 kmph in areas around South-West Arabian Sea, along the coasts of Somalia, Yemen and Oman.
