Weather Update IMD: The weather is continuously changing in many parts of the country. At some places it is extremely hot and at other places rain and hail have created havoc. A fresh western disturbance is going to hit Jammu and Kashmir on April 23, which will bring moderate rain and snowfall in the upper reaches till April 23. Another disturbance will reach the Western Himalayas by 26 April. These disturbances will also accelerate the formation of cyclonic circulation. Due to which there will be scattered rain and thundershowers in North-West India including Punjab, Haryana, Western Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), an important weather pattern is going to affect different parts of India in the coming days. Heat to severe heat conditions are expected to continue today in West Bengal and Odisha along the banks of Ganga, after which it will gradually reduce. Meanwhile, Northeast India is likely to receive heavy rains with thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds till April 24. Similarly, there is a possibility of rain and thundershowers with lightning and gusty winds over Central and South Peninsular India on April 22.

According to IMD, there was severe heat in some parts of India on Saturday and the maximum temperature in many areas remained between 40 to 46 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, heat wave to severe heat wave conditions were observed in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal during the day. This is the second phase of the ongoing heatwave affecting Odisha, Jharkhand and parts of Gangetic West Bengal. This is the second time this month. In the first phase, parts of Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Gujarat were affected. On Saturday, the maximum temperature at some places was recorded seven to eight degrees above normal.

According to Skymet Weather, during the next 24 hours, between April 21 and 26, there may be rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Between April 22 and 23, there may be rain with thunder, lightning and strong winds (30-40 km per hour) in North Punjab, North Haryana.
Light to moderate rain and strong winds are possible in Northeast India between April 22 and 24. Light to moderate rain may occur in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim on 22 and 26 April. Light rain is possible in Central Maharashtra and Marathwada between April 22 and 26 and in Konkan and Goa on April 21 and 22. Between April 22 and 24, there may be sporadic rain in Kerala, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Interior Karnataka.
