During this period, many people are reported missing, including two Indians. Although both the Indians are completely safe. “We could not establish contact with the two people after the earthquake, but now we have established contact, both are safe,” External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said in his weekly briefing. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed solidarity with the earthquake-affected people of Taiwan. Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen also thanked PM Modi for his support in ‘challenging times’.

President Tsai had posted on social media platform ‘X’, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we are very grateful for your kind words and support in these challenging times. “The solidarity shown by you means a lot to the people of Taiwan as we all work rapidly to normalize the situation.”
PM Modi had expressed grief
PM Modi had said in a post on ‘X’, “Deeply saddened by the death of people due to earthquake in Taiwan. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families and we pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.” He said, “We stand in solidarity with the people of Taiwan as they cope with the aftermath of the earthquake and Are trying to recover from this.
The India Taipei Association also expressed condolences
The India Taipei Association also expressed its condolences to the earthquake victims. India established the ‘India Taipei Association’ in Taipei in 1995 with the aim of promoting dialogue between the two sides and facilitating trade, tourism and cultural exchanges. India-Taipei Association is authorized to provide all consular and passport services. In 1995 itself, Taiwan also established the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Delhi.
