Gandhinagar. Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel received a courtesy call on Japanese Ambassador Ono Keichi in India with Japanese Economic and Development Minister Koyoko Hoko in Gandhinagar. The Japanese ambassador met the Chief Minister on Friday after a meeting with 150 prominent industrialists and investors in Dholera SIR and Ahmedabad during his three -day visit to Gujarat. Ono Keachichi said that on the occasion of completion of 50 years of India-Japan friendship, Japan is eager to further strengthen its relationship with Gujarat. Not only this, there are more than 350 Japanese companies in Gujarat, which are also getting commendable support from the state government.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said that Gujarat is the second home for Japan. Gujarat has two Japanese townships, Japanese restaurants and a favorable environment for Japanese industries.
Referring to Japan’s participation at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, CM Bhupendra Patel said that all the MoU signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the then Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe during the India-Japan Annual Summit 2017 held in Gandhinagar (MoU) have grown.
The Japanese ambassador, especially referring to the role of development of semiconductor industries in Dholera SIR, said that he wished that the Gujarat semiconductor benefits from Japan’s expertise in the sector area. Many Japanese semiconductor companies are eager to invest in Dholera, so they requested the Chief Minister to make the Gujarat government more strong in terms of industrial infrastructure, social infrastructure and human resource development facilities.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel said in this context that the state government gives special priority to the semiconductor area. Not only this, it is working with a resolve to provide all the necessary world class infrastructure facilities within a certain time frame.
The Japanese ambassador also gave details of the survey being conducted by Mizuho Bank of Japan at Dholera and Semin Park in Japan to create the best ecosystem in the semiconductor area.
The Chief Minister expressed readiness of the concerned departments of the state government for cooperation in this survey and said that this survey would be useful in ensuring the bright future of semiconductor industries and making Gujarat a semiconductor hub.
Japanese Ambassador Shriyut Keichichi advocated more cooperation in the Ahmedabad-Mumbai High-Speed Rail Corridor-Ballot train project along with the interest of Japanese vehicles in Gujarat in this meeting. He also pledged to further strengthen Japan-India-Gujarat relations through trade, industry and cultural exchange.
Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister, MK Das, Principal Secretary of Industries Department Mamta Verma, Additional Principal Secretary of Chief Minister Avantika Singh and Honorary Consultant of Japan in Gujarat Mukesh Patel were also present in this courtesy visit.
