New Delhi. CM Yogi Adityanath has told the need to maintain demographic balance along with efforts to control population. On the occasion of World Population Day on Monday, the Chief Minister said that when it comes to family planning, population stabilization, we also have to keep in mind that population control efforts must be successful, but the situation of demographic imbalance should not arise anywhere. . It should not happen that the speed of increasing the population of any one class is high and those who are native, their population should be controlled by efforts of population stabilization, enforcement and awareness efforts. CM said that in countries which have more population, demographic imbalance becomes a matter of concern. Because there is an opposite effect on the religious demography, then after a time there is chaos, anarchy starts to take birth. Therefore, with the efforts of population stabilization, all the views on religion, class, sect should be combined equally. At the same time, while sharing the figures of maternal and child mortality, he said that among the efforts to control maternal anaemia, maternal and infant mortality, we face another challenge. Both maternal and infant mortality rates are high in a particular category. If the interval between the birth of two children is less, then it will also result in maternal and infant mortality and the society will also have to pay its price. He said that Asha sisters, Anganwadi workers, teachers, representatives of three-tier panchayats can play an important role in the work of stabilization of population. The cooperation of religious leaders should also be taken. It will be successful only through collective effort.
Before this program organized on the occasion of World Population Day, the Chief Minister flagged off an awareness rally, marking the beginning of Population Stabilization Fortnight. He presented shagun kits to the newlyweds and also formally launched family planning services through teleconsultation at health and wellness centres.
It took millions of years to become 100 crores, 400 crores increased in 183 years
In this program held at the Chief Minister’s residence, the CM said that mass awareness programs about population stabilization are going on for the last five decades. It has got good results. He said that having a certain population growth rate is an achievement. Huge population is also a resource. But this achievement is only when people are healthy, healthy. Where there is a lack of medical resources, there are diseases, where there is a big challenge of population growth. World Population Day exemplifies this challenge. It took millions of years for humans to reach 100 crores but it took only 183-185 years to reach 100 to 500 crores. By the end of this year the world population is expected to be 800 crores. Today’s India is a country of 135-140 crore population. Uttar Pradesh is the most populous state. There is a population of 24 crores right now, which will cross the number of 25 crores in no time. This speed is a challenge. We have to make efforts for its control/stabilization. Emphasizing on inter-departmental coordination, he said that awareness is of utmost importance in population stabilization. This awareness is not only the responsibility of the health department. The departments of urban development, rural development, education etc. will also have to be associated with it. We have seen the importance of interdepartmental coordination in the control of meningitis. Today, up to 95% of child deaths from this disease have been controlled. Similarly, work will also have to be done for population stabilization.
Data given, said efforts will have to be made
The Chief Minister said that Uttar Pradesh has given excellent results in the last five years. In maternal anemia, it has come down from 51.1% to 45.9% today. Full immunization has increased from 51.1% to about 70% in 05 years. The rate of institutional deliveries which was 67-68% earlier is going to 84% today. Efforts to control maternal-child mortality have yielded good results. With the efforts of inter-departmental coordination and awareness, the state will surely be successful in its goals.
