New Delhi. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee strongly protested against the alleged harassment of Bengali speaking people at Vasant Kunj in New Delhi and claimed that the BJP -led government ordered the cutting of electricity and water supply in the area.
Mamta Banerjee wrote on the social media platform X, “I am very upset to hear the shocking news of harassment from Jai Hind Colony in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi. The Delhi Police stopped the private water tankers ordered by them with the support of RAF personnel. After another violation by the Delhi Police, the process of forcibly eviction is going on if the matter is undergoing a violation of the basic rights, how can we claim to be a democratic reputation.
The Trinamool Congress supremo warned that such actions are similar to the identity of Bengali speaking Indians and criminalization of the language. He wrote on X, “There are more than 1.5 crore migrant laborers in Bengal, who are living with respect. But, the same thing cannot be said for the BJP ruled states, where Bengalis are being treated like intruders in their own country. Speaking of Bengali does not make any Bangladeshi.
He alleged that the BJP is now targeting Bengalis in BJP ruled states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh after failing to politically dominate West Bengal.
He wrote in the post, “After his efforts to deprive Bengalis in West Bengal, the BJP is now spreading its anti-Bengali agenda in other parts of the country strategically and systematically. Reports of disturbing news from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Odisha and Madhya Pradesh have come to light, where Bengali-speaking people are facing a target oppression. It has reached the national capital. As long as the people of Bengal are behaved like intruders in their own country, we will not stand silently with every oppressed voice.
