Maryam Nawaz Sharif meets Men’s Javelin gold medalist Arshad Nadeem
Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has presented a cheque of Rs 10 crore and a car to Arshad Nadeem, who won gold medal for Pakistan in Paris Olympics. Arshad has become a sensation in Pakistan and awards are pouring in on him from all sides. Olympic javelin throw champion Arshad Nadeem has been awarded Rs 1 crore and a new car by the Punjab government. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz went to Mian Chunnu village to meet Nadeem and his family.
Maryam Nawaz praised Nadeem
Upon reaching the village, Maryam Nawaz presented Nadeem with a cash prize and car keys. During this, she said, “Arshad deserves everything he is getting because he has brought a lot of joy and pride to the country.” Nadeem’s parents were also present when the Chief Minister handed over the keys of a new car with a number plate of 92.97 to Nadeem. Nadeem had won the gold medal in Paris with an Olympic record of 92.97 meters.

Meanwhile, the ‘Deputy Commissioner’ accompanying Maryam Nawaz said that on the instructions of the Chief Minister, the paperwork related to the cheque and the car was completed in record time as she wanted to meet Nadeem. He said, “The Chief Minister had also ordered for a special number plate.” Before returning to Lahore, Maryam also gave a cheque of Rs 50 lakh to Nadeem’s coach Salman Iqbal Butt. Nadeem had ended Pakistan’s 40-year drought of gold medal in the Olympics.

Let us tell you that earlier the Pakistan government had announced to honour Arshad Nadeem with the country’s second highest civilian award Hilal-e-Imtiaz. Apart from this, a Pakistani businessman has also decided to gift a car to Arshad Nadeem. Arshad Nadeem’s father-in-law Muhammad Nawaz had said in a conversation with the local media that he would gift a buffalo to Arshad.
