Rouse Avenue Court has extended the judicial custody of Manish Sisodia till April 26 in the money laundering case related to Delhi Liquor Policy. The next hearing in this case will be on April 26 at 11 am. The court directed to give the list of those documents whose investigation has not been completed yet. Manish Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on 26 February 2023 and later taken into custody by the ED on 9 March.
Many big leaders of Aam Aadmi Party have gone to jail in liquor scam. Sanjay Singh got bail some time ago. Party convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is also lodged in Tihar jail in the liquor scam case. Rouse Avenue Court will hear Kejriwal’s case on April 23. If Kejriwal gets bail and Sisodia is also released on April 26, then it will be a news of relief for the Aam Aadmi Party. Two big leaders of the party will be out after a long time.
Kejriwal was arrested on March 21
ED had arrested Kejriwal on March 21. Since then his judicial custody has been continuously increasing. However, he still remains the Chief Minister of Delhi and is seeking permission to run the government from inside jail. Manish Sisodia resigned from the post of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi on 28 February 2023 after going to jail. Since then he is in jail. On April 2, 2024, Sisodia, while filing a bail petition, had said that the investigating agencies have not yet been able to prove that any money has reached him. On this basis he had demanded bail. The next hearing in this case is to be held on April 26.
