Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Monday unveiled the statue of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar during a special visit to Hamirpur on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated 8 different works in Hamirpur district including Hamirpur assembly constituency. The Chief Minister was accompanied by MLA Suresh Kumar, MLA Captain Ranjit Rana, Chief Minister’s political advisor Sunil Sharma Bittu, Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Chairman Kuldeep Pathania, current Congress District President Suman Bharti and other dignitaries were also present. When the Chief Minister reached the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises, he was warmly welcomed by the local people as well as Congress workers.
Congratulating the people on the birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the Chief Minister said that today people are remembering the constitution maker of the country and his statue has been unveiled in the Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner Office. He said that Baba Saheb played an important role in the creation of the constitution of the country and today everyone is remembering him. He said that today we should take a pledge that everyone should come forward to protect the constitution created by Baba Saheb.
The Chief Minister said that two departments are going to start soon in Dr. Radhakrishnan Medical College, Hamirpur, which will provide relief to people to get kidney related diseases. He said that the neuro department in the medical college is also going to be commissioned soon, which will be announced in the next cabinet meeting. He said that the first cancer institute of the state will be established in Hamirpur itself, which will be the largest institute in North India, for which Rs 85 crore has been sanctioned. He said that soon after meeting with the heads of all medical college institutes of the state, a policy will be prepared by discussing the strengthening of medical facilities in the state. He also said that approval has been received for the furniture of Hamirpur Medical College and the work of the medical college will also be completed soon.
On this occasion, a special program was also organized on Ambedkar Jayanti in the Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner Office premises, in which Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh also addressed the public. He said that the government is working to strengthen the state with the change of system and there will be widespread improvement in the state’s economic system in this financial year. He said that during the previous government, the BJP had stabilized the government and despite having a double engine government, the state had a loan of lakhs of crores of rupees. He alleged that the level of education and health in the state had fallen during the previous government. He said that when there was a shortage of students in schools in the field of education, health institutions used to become a referral hospital and people had to wander around to get good health facilities, but the present government is working to stop it and is committed to provide better facilities to the public.
