Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who landed on ‘Ground Zero’ since Wednesday to ensure relief material and all other types of assistance to the people in the flood-affected areas, on Friday conducted an aerial survey of Maharajganj and Gorakhpur and met the flood victims. Shared their sorrow and pain and provided relief material with their own hands. Visiting the flood victims at Dhani in Maharajganj and Campierganj and Sahjanwa in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister assured them that the central and state governments are with them in this hour of calamity. The Chief Minister said that the service of the public and the people is the priority and commitment of the double engine government. On Friday, the Chief Minister first reached Dhani block while conducting an aerial survey of Maharajganj district and met the flood victims. After this, taking stock of the floods by helicopter, he reached JP Inter College in Campierganj, Gorakhpur and Murari Inter College in Sahjanwa. The Chief Minister said that in this hour of untimely flood disaster, the government is standing ready with every victim with sympathy and full help. He himself is visiting the affected districts for three days to ensure that the flood victims get full help. He has been on tour for three days to review that relief and all kinds of support are available to the people of the flood affected area. He has come to Sahjanwa via Bahraich, Shravasti, Balrampur, Gonda, Ayodhya, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Dakshinachal of Gorakhpur, Maharajganj, Campierganj. Along with this, the Group of Ministers is also visiting and monitoring the relief work.
The Chief Minister while interacting with the flood victims said that for the first time in the month of October, all of us are facing the tragedy of untimely floods. Facing the challenge of disaster firmly, all possible help is being provided to every flood affected person. There will be no shortage of any kind. Food packets are being delivered to the houses where food is not being prepared due to water and where food can be prepared, arrangements have been made for ration kits in sufficient quantity. The Chief Minister said that the administration has been directed to arrange additional boats to bring those who are completely surrounded by flood waters to safer places.
Distribution of relief material in sufficient quantity
The Chief Minister said that adequate quantity of food grains and other materials were being distributed to the flood victims. The relief material being given in two types of kits includes 10 kg rice, 10 kg flour, 2 kg tur dal, half kg salt, 250 grams turmeric, 250 grams chili, 250 grams vegetable spices, one liter refined oil, five kilos. Contains two kg roasted gram, one kg jaggery, 10 packets of biscuits, one packet matchbox, one packet candle, two bath soaps. Apart from this, 10 kg potatoes, five liters of kerosene, two jars of five liters capacity, a tarpaulin sheet of 15 by 10 feet are also being given.
Don’t worry about loss of life, damage to damaged houses and crops, government will give full help
CM Yogi said that the administration has been instructed to distribute relief materials to the flood affected families on a war footing so that no one has to suffer. Said that the officials have been directed to immediately provide a compensation of Rs. Along with assistance of up to Rs 2.5 lakh in case of limb amputation, financial assistance will also be given to the seriously injured. Those whose houses have been damaged due to floods, have been directed to give Rs 1.20 lakh for providing houses or for construction of houses under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana. Assistance will also be given for partially damaged houses from the Disaster Relief Fund. He said that for the damage caused to the crops due to the floods, the administration has been directed to conduct a survey in every gram panchayat and send the compensation amount to the farmers’ accounts at the earliest. CM Yogi said that the state government is keeping a close watch on the situation arising out of drought first and now untimely floods. In view of this, seeds of pulses and vegetables are being provided free of cost to the farmers.
Government will give assistance even on the loss caused to the cattle farmers
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that compensation will also be given for the loss of animals due to floods. 37500 on the death of milch cattle, cow, buffalo etc., 4000 on the death of goat, sheep, pig, 32000 on the death of non-milk animal camel, horse etc., 20000 on the death of calf, donkey, pony etc. amount will be given.
Start cleanliness campaign on war footing
Instructing the officials of the administration, CM Yogi said that in the next two-three days, the flood water will start decreasing. To save people from infectious diseases, the campaign of cleanliness, sanitization and spraying should be started on war footing. This work should be continued till the ground is completely dry. Gram Panchayat should prepare from now onwards and the administration should provide cooperation in this, so that there should not be any kind of filth in the village. He said that along with this, arrangements should be ensured for repair of damaged roads and restoration of power supply immediately before Diwali. By the time of Diwali, every village should have better transportation facilities and all villages should be lit up.
Chief Minister was shocked to meet elderly women and children
While distributing relief material among the flood victims, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was overwhelmed to meet elderly women and children. He called the elderly women with the soulful address of “My”. Learned about their troubles and assured that there is no need to worry about their lives. Said that if anyone is not in a position to take the relief material himself, then the administration will deliver it to his house. The affection of CM Yogi towards children is well known.
