Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath surrounded the controversial statement made by Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Gopal Yadav on Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, saying that the army uniform is not seen from ‘casteist glasses’.
He said that tying a heroic daughter by the National General Secretary of Samajwadi Party in the periphery of the caste is not only a demonstration of her party’s narrow thinking, but is also a gross insult to the bravery of the army and the identity of the country.
CM Yogi wrote on the social media platform X, “Army uniform is not seen by ‘casteist glasses’. Every soldier of the Indian Army plays ‘nationalism’, not a racism or religion. Tie a heroic daughter in the periphery of a caste or religion is a demonstration of the narrow thinking of their party and the country’s assurances are not only a disaster.”
Taking a dig at the Samajwadi Party, he said, “This is the same mentality that makes up the appeasement and vote bank politics to divide even patriotism. The public will reply to this distorted racist thinking again.”
On the other hand, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya also wrote in the X post while attacking SP General Secretary Ram Gopal, “The army is beyond caste and religion. The only religion of the army has ‘protecting the country’. Therefore, seeing caste and religion in the army is a ‘petty mentality’. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also laid a lot of emphasis on women empowerment in the army. Everyone should trust them. “
In fact, while addressing a program in Moradabad, SP National General Secretary Ram Gopal Yadav used caste words about ‘Operation Sindoor’ regularly briefing the Wing Commander of the Air Force Vyomika Singh. During this, he also told the castes of other army officers.
Ram Gopal Yadav in his comment mentioned the caste of other military officers including Vyomika Singh and Colonel Sophia Qureshi. He said, “The war fought by a Muslim, a Jatav and a Yadav. All three come from the backward, Dalit, minority (PDA) class. How can the BJP take credit for this campaign.”
