A 64-year-old man sent a complaint to Pune police, in which he said that some women have trapped him in a honey trap. They have looted him. They have robbed his money. Police arrested three women after raiding their house. One of them was demanding extortion of Rs 50 lakh from a doctor in Shahupuri police station of Kolhapur. When police started investigation, it was found that this is a whole gang, which is targeting the elderly. People do not lodge complaints from homes where they have been defamed.

Asked for money for treatment twice
The old man told that one of these women Alka called him. Then they got acquainted. Twice she said that she was ill and asked for money for her treatment. On Monday afternoon Alka called him and asked him to come to a lodge at Talkies Chowk and said that she wanted to meet him. She wanted to return the money. The old man thought that she might be saying the truth. As soon as the old man reached the lodge, two more women came. There was a man with them. These people threatened the old man by calling themselves members of the Women’s Rights Committee. They started slapping him. They threatened to register a case of molestation of a woman. Then Alka started crying.

demanded a ransom of five lakhs
After this, the people demanded a ransom of five lakhs from the old man. Later, a compromise was reached and the old man agreed to give three lakhs. But the women did not stop there. They took out 20 thousand rupees from the old man’s pocket. They took him to the ATM so that they could withdraw 60 thousand rupees from his account. But the old man entered the wrong PIN. That is why the money did not come out. After this, the women took him to a jeweler’s shop. There they took out all his rings and sold them. Later, when investigation was done, it was found that PSI Kashinath Maruti was running this honeytrap racket. He is currently absconding.
