UPSC IPS Story: Every day IPS or IAS officers remain in the news for their exploits. Some are in the news for their work, while others are in the news for their ways of working. One such IPS officer is in the news for the Ghatkopar hoarding accident. He has been suspended by the Maharashtra government. He is accused of negligence and giving permission to put up hoardings by ignoring the rules while being the GRP commissioner. 17 people died in the hoarding accident that took place in Ghatkopar on May 13. The IPS officer we are talking about is Quaiser Khalid.

Quaiser Khalid was born in Araria, Bihar. He completed his education from the schools of Araria. After this he took admission in Science College Patna and Patna College Patna. He has been a brilliant student from the beginning. He has also received many scholarships from class four till the completion of his education. According to the LinkedIn profile of IPS officer Quaiser, he has completed BA and MA in Geography and he has passed both with first division. After this, in the year 1997, he was selected for the post of Indian Police Service i.e. IPS. In the year 1997, he secured 115th rank in the UPSC examination.
Was posted on the post of ADG
IPS officer Quaiser Khalid, who was suspended by the Maharashtra government, was currently posted as ADG PCR (PROTECTION OF CIVIL RIGHTS). According to his LinkedIn profile, after being selected as an IPS officer, Quaiser has held various positions in the police department at different places in Maharashtra for 19 years. After this, he was made Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Mumbai. After this, he was made Commissioner of Police Railway Mumbai.
There is a poet with IPS
IPS officer Quaiser (Quaiser Khalid) also emerged as a writer in the year 2005. He gained fame as a writer after editing and publishing the poetry collection of poet Syed Mohammad Ali Shad Azimabadi. His critically acclaimed first poetry collection “Shour-e-Asar” was published in the year 2014. For this he also received the Maharashtra State Sahitya Academy Award. Later his second poetry collection “Dasht-e-Jaan” was published in the year 2016.
