Chandigarh State Vigilance and Anti -Corruption Bureau Rohtak has arrested two more accused in a major corruption case. Nominated Anoop Singh, Computer Office Office Deputy Commissioner Sonipat and Rajesh, Computer Operator SDM office Sonipat were arrested on Monday. Both of them were arrested in Rohtak on the basis of adequate evidence gathered during the investigation of the prosecution.
During the investigation, it was revealed that accused Anoop Singh had transferred a total of Rs 3,13,000 as a bribe to PA Shashank of Deputy Commissioner Sonipat in 20 times. This amount was given as a monthly “monthly” of Rs 10,000 and Rs 15,000. At the same time, accused Rajesh also gave a bribe of Rs 2,87,000 to Shashank in 16 times.
Already accused in this case, Shashank PA, Deputy Commissioner Sonipat, have been arrested on 20 June 2025 red -handed taking a bribe of Rs 3,50,000. After the arrest, the accused’s house number 585, street number 6, Ashok Bihar was searched from where Rs 5,75,000 cash was recovered.
FIR number 19 of the said corruption case was registered on 20 June 2025 under Section 7 PC Act, 1988 at the Anti -Corruption Bureau, Rohtak police station.
The complainant, who is working as a clerk in the Deputy Commissioner Office Sonepat, alleged that he was transferred to different offices repeatedly. After recently transferred to the Additional Deputy Commissioner Office, he urged the Deputy Commissioner’s PA Shashank to be transferred to the post of RC Clerk in Tehsil Rai. On this, accused Shashank demanded a bribe of Rs 5 lakh from him and claimed that he had talked to the Deputy Commissioner.
The complainant said that he had already given Rs 1,50,000 cash to the accused Shashank and the remaining Rs 3,50,000 was now being demanded. Acting on this basis, the Vigilance Bureau caught Shashank red -handed.
Now the arrest of Anoop Singh and Rajesh is also revealing the role of other employees involved in this corruption trap. Both the accused will be produced in the Honorable Court, Sonepat on Tuesday.
