New Delhi. A big revelation has been made on the adulteration in the laddus of Tirupati temple of Andhra Pradesh. Fish oil and animal fat have been confirmed to be found in the prasad. This has been revealed in a report of the Center of Analysis and Learning in Livestock and Food (CALF) Lab under the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

According to the NDDB report, beef fat, animal fat and fish oil have been mixed in the laddu prasad prepared in Tirupati temple. All these have been mixed in the ghee with which the laddus are prepared. The surprising thing is that these laddus were not only distributed to the devotees as prasad, but these laddus were also offered to God as prasad.

Yesterday, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in the legislature party meeting had alleged that substandard material and animal fat was used in making the holy prasad laddu at the Sri Venkateswara temple in Tirupati during the previous YSRCP-led Jaganmohan Reddy government.

He had said that in the last five years, YSR Congress Party leaders had worked to tarnish the sanctity of Tirumala. However, YSRCP had completely rejected these claims.

After this revelation, a storm has arisen in the politics of Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Congress President YS Sharmila wrote on the social media platform X, “Chandrababu Naidu’s comment that he used animal oil instead of ghee in Laddu Prasadam as CM is harmful to the sanctity and prestige of Tirumala. Venkatesh, the deity worshipped by crores of Hindus, has been tarnished. We demand from CM Chandrababu Naidu. If there is no political dimension in your allegations, if you have no intention of politicizing emotions, immediately form a high-level committee. Or get the investigation done by the CBI.”

Tirupati temple is considered to be one of the holy places for Hindus. All Hindus wish to visit Tirupati temple once and have darshan of God and definitely accept the prasad there. Let us tell you that laddu is offered in Sri Venkateswara temple of Tirupati. Which is operated by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam i.e. TTD.
