Amidst the demand for three more deputy CMs in Karnataka, state CM Siddaramaiah gave a statement on Wednesday. Siddaramaiah said that the decision of the Congress high command on the demand for three more deputy chief ministers is final. Let us tell you that state Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna, Housing Minister BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan, Public Works Minister Satish Jarkiholi and some other leaders had recently once again demanded three more deputy chief ministers. All of them are considered close leaders of Siddaramaiah.
Why is there a demand?
Some ministers of the state are demanding that leaders from Veerashaiva-Lingayat, SC/ST and minority communities should be given the post of Deputy Chief Minister. Currently, DK Shivakumar is the only Deputy Chief Minister who is from the Vokkaliga community. On being asked about this matter, Siddaramaiah said that whatever decision the high command takes is final.
Is there discord in the party?
According to PTI, a section within the Karnataka Congress believes that the statement demanding three more deputy chief ministers is a plan of the Siddaramaiah camp. Its main purpose is to keep Shivakumar under control. There is also a discussion that after 2.5 years of the Karnataka government, DK Shivakumar may demand the post of Chief Minister.

Amidst this entire uproar in Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar has also given a statement. He has expressed his displeasure over the demands of the ministers. Shivkumar has said that the party will give a proper reply to this. Let us tell you that DK Shivkumar is also the president of the Karnataka unit of Congress.
