The distance between the Governor of Telangana and the Chief Minister is increasing. Alam is that there has been no talk or meeting between two top personalities of a state for six months. The Chief Minister does not consider it necessary to invite the Governor for important government functions. At the same time, when the Governor invites him, he himself neither goes nor the ministers are allowed to go. This cold war, which has been going on for more than six months, may increase further in the coming days, as there is no sign of breaking the deadlock.
The Governor of Telangana, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan is a doctor by profession. She is very active in social work. Whereas KCR Rao has formed the government for the second time by winning with a thumping majority. He has to face the third election in 2023. BJP is increasing its penetration in the state and it is on the way to beat the Congress. KCR has weakened the Congress by breaking it. But the reasons for the current conflict are different.
Governor Dr. Tamilisai Sundararajan in a conversation with ‘Hindustan’ admitted that he has not had any meeting with the Chief Minister for six months. But who is responsible for this? He did not comment on this. However, he said that he has always taken steps under the rules.
reasons for conflict
According to Raj Bhavan sources, last year the Governor had returned two files of the government, after which Chief Minister KCR Rao got angry with him. Since then, there has been a tussle between the Raj Bhavan and the Chief Minister’s Office.
Reason-1- According to Raj Bhavan sources, last year, in two cases, which resulted in a conflict between the Governor and the Chief Minister, one of the MLCs was to be selected in the service category from the Governor’s quota. The KCR government sent the name of a person named Kaushik Reddy. This leader had come from Congress to TRS. But the Governor returned the file saying that this recommendation is not suitable as a non-political person or an enlightened person of the society should be recommended in this category. Apart from this, the record of the person who was recommended was also not clear.
Reason-2- For the second time, there was a tussle over the appointment of protum chairman on the chairman of MLC. The appointment of a pro-team chairman extends to the appointment of a permanent chairman for a maximum period of six months. But when the KCR government recommended extension of the tenure of the pro-team chairman after six months, the governor turned it down. Whereas the chairman is for five years.
BJP making issue of KCR’s statement
On one hand the tussle between KCR and the Governor continues, while the BJP has made an issue of KCR’s statement, in which he has talked about rewriting the Constitution. Actually, BJP is taking its roots in Telangana. Congress is almost over there. Most of the Congress leaders have gone to KCR’s party.
Congress has only five MLAs out of 19 left.
In the last election, Congress had got 19 seats, out of which 12 went to TRS. One resigned to contest the Lok Sabha elections. There is news of one joining BJP. Thus the Congress has only five MLAs left. While Owaisi’s party has seven MLAs and has become the second largest party in the state.
