Delhi: Some banks can fill the form
The process of exchanging 2000 notes has started in all banks from today. The Reserve Bank of India has asked all banks to make special arrangements. India’s largest bank has said that no ID is required to exchange notes. No form will have to be filled. 10 notes can be changed at a time. Although some banks say that the form will be filled at the time of exchange. If you want to deposit 2000 notes in your account then there is no limit on this. You can deposit 2000 notes in your account as before. However, as per the pre-determined rules, if you deposit Rs 50,000 or more, then PAN will have to be given. RBI has made it clear that there is no need to panic about Rs 2000 note. 2000 note can be changed in the bank. Also, by going to a shop, you can easily buy respect from the note because no shopkeeper can refuse to take the note.
Faridabad: Counter made in the bank
Separate counters have been set up in each branch in Faridabad. Lead bank manager Hariom Sharma told that to exchange the notes, come to the bank with a photocopy of any of your government identity cards. Also bring original documents. A declaration form will be given in the bank. After filling it, any person can exchange notes up to Rs 20,000. For those who have to deposit money in their account, the process will go on like normal days. All the banks have been asked to set aside the work of exchange or depositing Rs 2000 notes, so that those doing routine transactions do not face any problem.
Noida: Confusion everywhere
Till Monday evening in Noida, there was confusion in the banks regarding the guidelines. In some banks it was said to change the form and in others without filling the form. Lead bank manager Vidur Bhalla said that instructions have been given to exchange Rs 2,000 notes in all the banks of the district. Will try our best not to crowd the bank. Separate temporary counters have been set up in the bank. In some banks, an already made counter has been made to change 2 thousand notes. At the same time, the manager of SBI located in Sector-44 told that if no form or ID is taken while changing two thousand notes, then it will not be possible to keep the data of the people. Clear guidelines are awaited for this. Punjab National Bank of Sector-18 told that no form has been received to change the notes. Earlier RBI had given a form in the guideline. Now that has been cancelled. Similarly, the situation is different in every bank.
Ghaziabad: It is necessary to give identity card
Officials of the State Bank of Ghaziabad said that if someone approaches them for such note exchange, they will not ask for identity card. On the other hand, Lead Bank Manager (LDM) Himanshu Tiwari has issued instructions to all banks that notes should not be exchanged without government ID card. Only 10 notes of 2 thousand will be changed at a time. 10 notes can be exchanged multiple times in a day. But, no such limit has been kept for depositing money in the bank account. The LDM said that the cash flow should remain in the branch of the banks, so the currency chests were inspected on Monday. There will be no problem of cash anywhere. All banks have been instructed to set up separate counters to exchange Rs 2,000 notes. Drinking water should also be arranged for the customers. If you are depositing Rs 2,000 notes in a bank account, then the KYC of that account should be updated. In this case, carry identity card, photo, PAN etc.
Gurgaon: New notes are available
A separate counter will be arranged in the big branch in Gurgaon. While notes can be exchanged at the cash counter in small branches only. Lead bank manager Ashok Kumar told that at present there will not be any problem. Adequate number of new notes are available in all branches and bank chests. KYC will not be done and any customer can exchange his notes. If needed, separate counters will be made in banks. He informed that there are 842 branches of 42 banks in Gurgaon district and there are an estimated 20 lakh customers. Any customer can go to his bank branch and get 10 notes of 2000 rupees exchanged. He told that since Saturday people are reaching the banks to deposit Rs 2,000 notes. This trend continued on Monday as well and no crowd was seen. The common man has enough time till September to deposit or exchange the notes. No customer will have any problem.
