Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Jogaram Patel, while talking to the media in Jaipur on Tuesday morning, targeted the Congress fiercely. He said, ‘Shashi Tharoor, Salman Khurshid and Asaduddin Owaisi have praised the bravery of the Indian armed forces abroad. Doubting the patriotism of these people or making any statement on it is the result of the internal struggle of the Congress. The Congress does not want to praise anyone except a family. Telling the truth is not bad, but she considers it wrong. The Congress party is not allowed to do anything other than praising the Gandhi family.
‘There is no time for internal discussion at the moment’
In fact, a few days ago, Shashi Tharoor, who is leading one of the 7 delegations a few days ago, had credited India’s ‘first’ surgical strikes across the border to the government led by PM Modi and praised the bravery of the armed forces. But Tharoor had to face severe criticism of the Congress after openly supporting the Modi government’s security theory. Many top leaders objected to his views. However, responding to criticisms, Shashi Tharoor said that he would respond to the criticisms from within the party after returning to India. He said that presenting India’s stance on terrorism is the demand of the hour and it is not the time of internal discussion, but the time to ensure the success of the mission.
‘Is it so difficult to be a patriot?’
On the other hand, former Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid also faced silent opposition from the party when he supported the removal of Article 370 while addressing academics and think tanks in Indonesia. After this, Khurshid wrote in a post on X, ‘When I am on the mission to convey India’s message against terrorism to the world, it is sad that the people of our country are relying on political loyalty. Is it so difficult to be a patriot? ‘
