Congress criticized the order of the DGP of Madhya Pradesh in which 'salute' to MPs and MLAs

The Madhya Pradesh Congress on Saturday (April 26, 2025) criticized a directive issued by the State Director General of Police (DGP) Kailash Makwana, making uniformed policemen mandatory for saluting the Members of Parliament (MP) and the Members of Assembly (MLA) in government ceremonies and general meetings.

According to media reports, this order of April 24, which has been reviewed by the Hindu, has also been instructed to give them “top priority” when the public representatives go to the police station and ensure timely solution to their concerns. In addition, it is advised to personnel to reply “humble and appropriate” if they contact the phone by MPs and MLAs on public issues.
