In view of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, Congress has given ticket to Anjali Nimbalkar from Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency of Karnataka. However, as soon as he got the ticket, controversy arose. Actually, Anjali Nimbalkar’s husband Hemant Nimbalkar is an IPS officer and he currently holds the post of Commissioner of Information and Public Relations Department of Karnataka. In such a situation, BJP has requested the Election Commission to transfer Hemant Nimbalkar as soon as possible.

The BJP delegation has requested the Election Commission to immediately transfer Information and Public Relations Department Commissioner Hemant Nimbalkar. BJP has alleged that Hemant Nimbalkar has used his power to make his wife a candidate from Uttara Kannada Lok Sabha constituency. BJP alleged that we have received information that Hemant Nimbalkar is campaigning on behalf of his wife and Lok Sabha candidate Anjali Nimbalkar.
Let fair elections be held – BJP
Bharatiya Janata Party, in its letter to the Election Commission, has requested that Hemant Nimbalkar be transferred immediately and fair elections should be allowed to be held. According to reports, the letter has also demanded that Nimbalkar be relieved from all election related work. BJP has requested saying that not doing so will lead to conflict of interest. Let us tell you that Anjali Nimbalkar has also contested from Khanapur seat in the last assembly elections. Here he was defeated by BJP’s Vitthal Halgekar.
When will the Lok Sabha elections be held in Karnataka?
According to the notification of the Election Commission, the Lok Sabha elections 2024 are being organized in 7 phases this time. First phase – 19 April, second phase – 26 April, third phase – 7 May, fourth phase – 13 May, fifth phase – 20 May, sixth phase – 25 May and seventh phase – 1 June. Elections will be held on 28 seats in Karnataka in the second and third phase. The election results will be released on June 4.
