Since talks with Prashant Kishor failed, the Congress has been facing allegations that it wants to remain in the status quo and is not ready for change. However, if we look at the events of the past, it does not seem so. From Himachal Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh, the party high command has made changes in three states in three days. Apart from this, a few days ago, a new state president has been elected in Punjab and strict disciplinary action has been taken against leaders like Sunil Jakhar and KV Thomas. On Tuesday evening, the Congress high command had announced to make Pratibha Singh the state president in Himachal Pradesh. Apart from this, the names of 4 working presidents have also been announced with him.
Kamal Nath was standing on two posts for years, finally had to resign
On Wednesday, the very next day, trying to end the long-standing factionalism in Haryana, Udaybhan was made the state president. Udaybhan is considered close to Bhupinder Singh Hooda and comes from the Dalit community. In such a situation, his appointment is being considered important to send a message among the Jat community and Dalits. Then the next day i.e. on Thursday, big news came from Madhya Pradesh, where Kamal Nath’s resignation from the post of Leader of Opposition in the Assembly was accepted. In his place, Govind Singh has been given the command in the assembly.
There is also speculation about Sachin Pilot
The decision regarding Kamal Nath is considered important because it was said that he does not want anyone to come forward before him. Apart from this, both the posts of state president and leader of opposition were with him. In such a situation, by limiting them to one post, the high command has definitely given a message of change. Not only this, discussions have also taken place in Rajasthan. It is being said that after the Chintan Shivir to be held in May, Sachin Pilot can be promoted only as the state president or CM. The meeting of Sachin Pilot with Sonia Gandhi in the past has also indicated this.
Efforts are also being made to establish discipline
On the one hand, the Congress high command seems to be active regarding the changes in the state units, while the stick of discipline is also visible now. Former Punjab state president Sunil Jakhar has been removed from all party posts. Apart from this, the same action has been taken against senior leader of Kerala KV Thomas. With this, the Congress has indicated that no matter how big a leader may be, if he goes against the party line, then it will not hesitate to take action against him.
