Congress in action mode for Delhi elections, preparing manifesto

The Congress party, which came into active mode due to improved performance in the Lok Sabha elections, has come into action mode regarding the Delhi Assembly elections. Elections for the 70-seat Delhi Assembly are to be held next year in 2025. The Congress party has started preparing for the elections. For the last 10 years, the Congress has been completely absent from power in Delhi.

After failing to open its account in the last two assembly elections in Delhi, the Congress has already started preparing to regain its lost ground in the next election. The party has decided to form more than a dozen sub-committees to reach out to different sections of the society as part of the exercise to prepare the manifesto.

Delhi Congress President Devendra Yadav said that around 16 to 17 sub-committees will be formed under the manifesto committee. He also said that he is going to start accountability meetings from this week to assign responsibilities to party members for various programs of the Delhi state unit. The sub-committees will have five to seven members, including an expert from the concerned field.

He said that the party has decided to form a manifesto committee which will have around 16 to 17 sub-committees which will reach out to various sub-groups like traders, healthcare and education. They will talk to them and discuss various issues. They will try to understand what people need, what they want, after which we will include those things in the manifesto. Devendra Yadav claimed that this will be one of their biggest public relations programs which will be started in the first week of the month of August.

He said that we organize many programs on a daily or weekly basis. Accountability will be decided on the basis of the program. District and block leaders of Delhi Congress are constantly monitoring and giving their reports on who is working and who is not. Yadav said that some of them may have valid reasons for not attending the programs and we will give them a chance to explain why they did not attend the meeting.
