The Election Commission held a press conference today, i.e. on 16th August, and announced the dates for the assembly elections in two states, Jammu and Kashmir and Haryana. Shortly after this announcement by the Election Commission, Congress has reshuffled the state presidents of its two states. Congress has appointed new state presidents in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand. Let us tell you who has got the responsibility of state president in which state.
State presidents changed in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir
The Congress party released two lists and informed about the new state presidents of the party in Jharkhand and Jammu and Kashmir. Congress has appointed Tariq Hameed Karra as the new state president in Jammu and Kashmir. Tara Chand and Raman Bhalla have been appointed working presidents. In Jharkhand, Congress has appointed Keshav Mahato Kamlesh as the state president. Apart from this, the proposal to appoint Rameshwar Oraon as the leader of the Congress Legislature Party has also been approved. Congress has appointed state presidents in both the states with immediate effect.
When is the election in Jammu and Kashmir?
Voting will be held on 8 September, 25 September and 1 October for a total of 90 assembly seats in Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly elections will be held in three phases in which voting will take place on 24 seats in the first phase, 26 seats in the second phase and 40 seats in the third phase. There will be a total of 11838 polling booths in Jammu and Kashmir and an average of 735 voters will be present at each polling booth.
