Bengaluru. Karnataka Congress MLA Rizwan Arshad on Thursday launched a scathing attack on the BJP government and the governor at the Center. Talking to the media, he said that for the last 11 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP government have made it difficult for the common man to live.
He criticized the government for rising prices of petrol, diesel, gas, government rice and GST. Arshad alleged that big industrialists are benefiting from these policies, while common people are facing inflation.
Arshad said, “Transport is getting expensive due to increase in petrol-diesel and gas prices, which affects the prices of vegetables and essential things. GST was increased from 18 percent to 28 percent. Petrol-diesel is getting expensive in India despite the low oil prices in the international market. BJP and Modi government are responsible for this.”
He claimed that BJP’s policies have been “strangled” of the common man and the Congress will continue to raise his voice against it.
Arshad also targeted the Governor of Karnataka. He alleged that the Governor is acting like the “agent” of the BJP. He criticized the Governor’s attitude on the issue of 4 percent reservation for backward classes.
Arshad said that this reservation has been given not on the basis of religion, but under the category 2B of backward class commission, which is also available to SC-ST and other backward classes. Nevertheless, the governor sent the issue to the President.
He said that the Supreme Court has recently reprimanded the governors for such an attitude.
Arshad warned that if the governors would not improve their working style and continue to work like a BJP worker, then the Congress will have to protest on the streets.
He said, “If the governors in every state work at the behest of the BJP, then it is not good for democracy.”
The Congress MLA questioned the BJP to understand the problems of the common man and control inflation.
He insisted that the Congress will continue to raise the voice of the people and oppose the “anti -people” policies of the BJP.
