Vasco (Goa). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that Congress should apologize to the country for raising questions on the reliability of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs). PM Modi also said at an election rally here that Goa is a model of 100 per cent implementation of welfare schemes of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led central government.
The Prime Minister said that Congress lied about EVMs and tried to instigate people, but the Supreme Court in its recent judgment said that there is nothing wrong with EVMs. He said that Congress should apologize to the country for its stance.
He said, “Goa is a model of taking BJP’s welfare schemes to every person, which has benefited farmers, poor, fishermen, women. Modi is living to fulfill your dreams and aspirations.” PM Modi said that Goa is known for the land of patriots, its grand temples and churches.
The Prime Minister said that the 2024 elections are a battle of ideologies, in which on one side the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) wants to fulfill the aspirations of the citizens, on the other side there is the ‘India’ alliance which works with selfish motives to protect its families. . He said, “Our approach is not appeasement but satisfaction.”
PM Modi said that the BJP-led government will organize Olympics in the country and it is converting Goa into an international convention centre. The Prime Minister said that the insurance cover for fishermen will be increased. PM Modi claimed that the ‘India’ alliance wants to bring back Article 370 because of its appeasement politics and the Congress is planning to impose 55 percent inheritance tax.
Taking an indirect dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, the Prime Minister said, “The Congressman is going to bring an X-ray machine from abroad to check the wealth of the people and distribute it to others.” He said, “You all know who is the favorite vote bank of Congress. Congress will loot you during life as well as after life.”
