Bhavnagar. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday took a sharp dig at the Congress and claimed that the party will disappear from the earth like dinosaurs. While addressing an election rally, he said that children will not be able to tell about Congress ten years from now.
While campaigning for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Nimuben Bambhania, Singh also attacked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his alleged comments on the then kings. Singh said, ‘They (the then royal families) did not grab people’s land, but offered to merge their princely states into independent India.’
The senior BJP leader said, ‘Today, I was listening to the speech of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He said that there used to be kings who grabbed people’s land. As far as the kings of our country are concerned, on an appeal by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (the first Home Minister), all of them merged their princely states with India. He claimed, ‘Given the atmosphere in the country, I feel that this time (in the elections) Congress will be defeated.’
Addressing another rally in Anand, the Defense Minister said that because of the work of the Narendra Modi government, now when India speaks on the international platform, the world listens carefully. He said, ‘When I visit other countries, I see a vast change in people’s behavior and their attitudes (about India). There has been a perception all over the world that India is not a weak but a strong country.
