Contaminated water wreaks havoc in Udaipur, 3 people including 2 children died, panic ensued

Udaipur. Contaminated water has wreaked havoc in Udaipur district of Rajasthan. About three dozen people have fallen ill after drinking contaminated water in Udaipur’s Popalti village. Two children and an elderly person have died among them. Nine victims have been admitted to the local hospital. The condition of one of the children remains critical. He has been admitted to Udaipur’s MB Hospital. 35 villagers fell ill one after the other after drinking contaminated water in the village. This information created panic in the health department. Medical workers reached Popalti village and took samples of contaminated water from there.

Udaipur CMHO Dr. Shankar Bamaniya said that on Saturday, villagers in Popalti village complained of vomiting, diarrhea and stomach ache after drinking contaminated water. When the health of one villager after another started deteriorating, they rushed to the local hospital. A total of 35 villagers fell ill after drinking contaminated water. Among them, two children and an elderly person have died. The victims are being treated at the local hospital.

CMHO and medical staff reached the village
A child is in a serious condition and has been admitted to MB Hospital in Udaipur. Bamaniya said that when he came to know about the deaths and diseases due to contaminated water, he reached the spot with the medical staff. Initial investigation has revealed that the villagers have been drinking water from the bowl-shaped water source near Popalti village for many years. Probably the same water has become contaminated due to some reason and this incident happened due to it.
