Wearing of masks may be made mandatory in Maharashtra. State Health Minister Rajesh Tope has said that the rule of masks will be implemented in case of increase in cases of coronavirus infection. The special thing is that Maharashtra has been the most affected state in terms of the number of infected during the Corona epidemic. On Saturday, 155 new patients have been found in the state.
According to news agency ANI, Tope said, ‘If COVID-19 cases continue to rise, then we will have to make wearing of masks mandatory. Our goal is to increase the speed of vaccination and will do everything possible to ensure that children are vaccinated.
On Wednesday, the Chief Minister of the state Uddhav Thackeray had appealed to the people to wear masks when they step out. At the same time, he had said that precautions are necessary to prevent ‘the fourth wave of the epidemic from coming at the door’. He had recently held a review meeting with several top officials of the state. He had said, ‘The threat of COVID-19 is not over yet’. He had claimed, ‘There are already 400 million people in different cities of China, who are facing lockdown.’
The special thing is that in view of the increasing cases of COVID, many states have decided to implement the mask rule again. Wearing masks again in public places has been made mandatory in Kerala on Wednesday. Restrictions were eased some time ago when the number of infected people came down.
According to the language, 155 new cases of corona virus were reported in Maharashtra on Saturday and one patient died. The Health Department of Maharashtra said that the cases of infection in the state have increased to 78,77,732 and the death toll has increased to 1,47,843.
