Udaipur | While carrying out another major action against corruption in Rajasthan, the Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Friday arrested Assistant Administrative Officer Ashish Damor, working at the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) office in Udaipur, taking a bribe of ₹ 1.50 lakh.
The ACB’s Jaipur City First Unit took the trap action under the supervision of Deputy Inspector General Rajesh Singh and the Additional Superintendent of Police Bhupendra Singh. Accused Ashish Damor, age 35, resident village Khandi Obari, Tehsil Kherwara, District Udaipur, is alleged to have demanded a bribe of ₹ 2.5 lakh in lieu of ₹ 2.5 lakhs in lieu of not canceling the license by ignoring the so -called flaws found during surprise inspection from a private hospital operator.
Events from asking for bribery to catch red handed
According to sources, the complainant (private hospital operator) lodged a complaint with the ACB that Ashish Damor had demanded a bribe of ₹ 2.5 lakh threatening to revoke the license after a surprise inspection in his hospital. Initial verification by ACB confirmed that a bribe of ₹ 2 lakh was agreed between the two sides, out of which the accused had earlier received the accused.
After this, the deal of the remaining ₹ 1.5 lakh was done on time today. As soon as the accused accepted this second installment of bribe, the ACB team immediately caught him red -handed.
Search continues on accused’s locations
ACB said that after the arrest, a search operation is being carried out at Ashish Damore’s residence and other locations, so that it can be ascertained that the accused does not have disproportionate assets or other suspicious documents.
Legal proceedings continue
In the case, a case has been registered against the accused under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and advance research is going on. According to ACB sources, this investigation will not be limited to only one person, but it will be seen whether other officials of the department are also involved in such activities.
What does this action say?
This arrest not only highlights the situation of corruption in the Udaipur Health Department, but also shows how ACB is active towards ensuring accountability in the state.
When the officers holding government posts misuse their power and try to take illegal benefits from the general public or institutions, then such trap operations become necessary and admirable.
