New Delhi. Nowadays, more emphasis is being laid on making health related plans in the country. Due to this, natural farming is being promoted to reduce the cost of farming and to reduce the damage caused by chemical farming. On the same lines, a plan is being made to protect indigenous cows in Bihar as well. The Bihar government will adopt an ideal model of cow protection after considering all the facts after studying the Madhya Pradesh model. Under this, incentives will be provided to private cowherds along with cowsheds. To consider this, Deputy Chief Minister and Animal and Fisheries Resource Minister Tarkishore Prasad held a meeting with the presidents and secretaries of all the gaushalas of the state. For the protection and promotion of cattle in Bihar, many schemes are being run under the self-reliant Bihar Saat Nischay, as well as work is going on on the establishment of Animal Science University Govansh Vikas Sansthan.
Let us tell you, at present, there are only 86 Government Gaushalas in 33 districts of Bihar. Along with seeking detailed details of all these gaushalas, the government has also sought information about their land, its condition and number of animals etc. Notably, there is not even a single government cowshed in Kaimur, Arwal, Banka, Sheohar and Purnia districts. According to Deputy Chief Minister Tarkishore, indigenous cows are being neglected in the race to get more milk. For their conservation and promotion, it is necessary to start closed gaushalas and construction of new gaushalas. Along with this, the Deputy CM said that the state government will stop the smuggling of cattle in Seemanchal areas at any cost.
Recently, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced a grant of Rs 900 per month to indigenous Gopalkas who do natural farming. That is, per cowkeeper will get Rs 10,800 annually. After studying this model of MP, Bihar government can adopt it. Not only this, the government is also making efforts to fill the vacant posts of veterinary doctors. It is expected that soon veterinary doctors will be posted in veterinary hospitals.
