Cracked JEE, NEET, left IIT, medical college and took admission here

After passing 12th, most of the youth dream of doing engineering from IIT. But there are some people who go off the beaten track and choose a different path. One such story is of a boy who has been successful in passing both JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. He scored 99.875 percentile in JEE Main and secured an All India Rank of 1,422 in JEE Advanced. With this rank, one can easily get admission in any IIT in the country. But that boy did not take admission. The boy we are talking about is named Dhritishan Dutta.

Not only JEE but also NEET exam was passed
Not only did Dhritishman score 625 out of 720 in JEE but also in NEET UG medical entrance exam. With this mark, one can get admission in any private medical school to do MBBS, even if it is not government. However, instead of pursuing an engineering degree from IIT or MBBS from a medical school, Dhritishman has decided to take admission in the country’s top research institute IISc Bangalore. After giving the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Aptitude Test (IAT) 2024, Dhritishman Dutta secured fourth position at the all India level.

will study from this top institute
Let us tell you that admission to research degree programs in seven research institutes of the country including IISER, IISc Bangalore and IIT Madras is possible through the IISER IAT entrance exam. Through this exam, admission is given in both four-year BS degree program and five-year BS MS dual degree program. IISc Bangalore is ranked second overall and is the top research institute in the country according to the government’s NIRF ranking.

He also did wonders in 10th board exam
Dhritishman Dutta scored 94.2 per cent of the possible marks in the Assam Board Class 10th exam, ranking him ninth in the state. He wants to spend his first year at the institute exploring more options. After this, he will decide about his future. Dutta took the IAT exam for the first time with this attempt. Apart from this, he appeared in the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG), JEE Main 2024 and JEE Advanced. He could have got admission in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Communication Engineering departments at IIT Roorkee, IIT Kanpur or IIT Kharagpur with a JEE Advanced rank of 1,422. The candidate is eligible for state quota seats based on NEET UG scores.

Dutta started his preparation after class 10th with JEE Main in mind. However, my interest in research and IISER Aptitude Test diverted my preparation mostly towards IAT. He took PCMB coaching from a private institute. My school teachers helped me achieve this feat in preparing for the IAT 2024 exam.
