Logically Fact Check: Fake videos, audios and messages are continuously going viral on social media during the Lok Sabha elections. These viral messages are being shared with the aim of spreading propaganda about the opposition parties. Whereas they have nothing to do with the truth. One such video is becoming increasingly viral these days in which a huge crowd is visible. This video of the crowd has been taken from the sky with the help of a drone. It is being claimed about this crowd that this is a scene from a rally of Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh during the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.
This video has been shared on Instagram. Its caption reads- “Respected National President Akhilesh Bhaiya. The trust and love of the people of Azamgarh is making India alliance win.”
Voting was held in the sixth phase in Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh on May 25. Dharmendra Yadav contested the election here on a Samajwadi Party ticket.
However, the video that is being shared as Akhilesh Yadav’s rally is completely fake. In fact, this video is of the crowd gathered at the Micareta de Feira de Santana carnival held in Brazil in April. It has no connection with the Lok Sabha elections taking place in India.
To know the truth of the viral video Logically Facts The team of Fact Check conducted several levels of investigation. During the investigation, we found this video on the official Instagram account of a Brazilian singer Bel Marques, which was shared on April 19, 2024.
Taking cue from this, we searched for “maicreta de feira” and found that the same video was uploaded on April 19, 2024 on the Instagram account “Miceratadephyra” was also shared on. Apart from this, screenshots of the video were also published in a news report on the website of Micareta de Feira.
The Maicareta de Feira is a fair celebrated in Brazil since 1937. Folk groups and music bands participate in the parade. Many dance performances and other cultural activities are held during this parade. According to reports, the Maicareta de Feira de Santana Carnival took place from April 17 to 22, 2024 and was attended by about 2 million participants.
A two-month-old video of a Brazilian carnival is being shared as a Samajwadi Party rally. This has nothing to do with the elections taking place in India. Hence, all the claims being made here are fake.
