New Delhi. It is raining continuously in different parts of the country. Due to the monsoon being active, there is continuous torrential rain from Himachal to Bihar, UP and Kerala to Odisha, West Bengal and the Northeast states. The rain continues in the country’s capital Delhi as well. Rain was also recorded in Delhi and surrounding areas on Sunday. On the other hand, a cyclonic system has developed due to the formation of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal. Due to its effect, there is heavy rain in coastal states like West Bengal and Odisha. Its effect is being seen in Jharkhand, Northeast States as well as Bihar. The Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy rain in eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Due to the formation of a low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal, there has been torrential rain in the coastal areas. Heavy destruction has been caused due to rain in Odisha. At least 6 people died and four were injured due to lightning in different parts of Odisha on Sunday. A senior official said that two people died due to lightning in Kendrapara district when they were working in their fields. He said that an 18-year-old youth died and four were injured due to lightning in Balasore district during the day. Police said that after the incident, the local people took them to Soro Health Center, where the doctor declared one of them dead. Police said that cases of death due to lightning have also been reported in Jajpur, Sonpur and Bhadrak districts. The police officer said that the deceased have not been identified yet in three districts. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed grief over the death of six people and has directed the concerned officials to give an ex-gratia of four lakh rupees to the families of each deceased. He also announced that the state government will bear the entire cost of treatment of the injured persons.

Meanwhile, the Bhubaneswar Regional Center of IMD has predicted heavy rains in some places of Odisha in the next two days. The Meteorological Office has issued a yellow alert for Monday in Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Jharsuguda and Sambalpur districts. Let us tell you that on Monday, the festival of brother-sister love, Rakshabandhan, will be celebrated across the country. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued for Tuesday in Sundargarh, Deogarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Bargarh districts.
Rain in Delhi-NCR
Due to waterlogging after rain in the national capital Delhi on Sunday, vehicular movement was disrupted on Majnu Ka Tila and Chaudhary Fateh Singh Marg, due to which the police issued an advisory for diversion of traffic. According to the IMD, light rain occurred in some parts of Delhi on Sunday. The Delhi Municipal Corporation said that it received 11 complaints of waterlogging from various areas of Narela, Rohini, South Delhi, Shahdara, Najafgarh and Civil Lines. Delhi Police said that traffic was affected on Majnu Ka Tila and Chaudhary Fateh Singh Marg due to waterlogging. The Meteorological Department has predicted generally cloudy sky and light rain on Monday.
