The monsoon has gained momentum across the country and now it is also affecting Bihar. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rain, strong winds and lightning in many districts of the state. The active weather system in eastern India is expected to have a direct impact on Bihar, especially southern and eastern districts. This system, which came out of the Bay of Bengal, has moved towards Bihar via Jharkhand. According to the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area in the coastal areas of the Bay of Bengal is now slowly moving towards Bihar via Jharkhand. Along with this system, a cyclonic circulation is also active up to a height of 5.8 kilometers, which can cause heavy rainfall in the coming days. A warning has been issued to heavy rains and winds at a speed of heavy rains and 30-50 kmph in many districts of South and East Bihar including Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Purnia, Katihar, Sasaram, Aurangabad, Nalanda, Nawada, Supaul. The Meteorological Department has also taken seriously the possibility of lightning and has advised people to live in safe places.
Monsoon trough line passing through Bihar
According to IMD, the trough line of monsoon is currently moving towards Bihar and Northeast via Sriganganagar. Along with this, an East-West trough from UP to Jharkhand is also active, which is effective in height of 0.9 to 3.1 km. Due to this, there may be heavy rains in Bihar in the next 48 hours.
Appeal to fishermen and farmers to be vigilant
The situation in the sea remains serious due to strong winds in the Bay of Bengal and the surrounding coastal areas. In such a situation, fishermen of the border districts of Bihar have been advised not to go to the sea. At the same time, farmers engaged in agricultural work also need to be special vigilance for the next two days.
