Jaipur. Due to heavy rains in Rajasthan, there is a huge inflow of water in the dams of the state. The water level of almost all the small and big dams of the state, including Bisalpur Dam, which quenches the thirst of half a dozen districts including Jaipur, is continuously increasing. Many dams have overflowed. The gates of many dams including Panchana Dam of Karauli have been opened several times. Although there is a huge loss of life and property due to torrential rains. But it is proving to be a boon for the dams. The Water Resources Department is happy to see the inflow of water in the dams.

Rajasthan has been experiencing continuous heavy to very heavy rainfall for the past ten days. This rainfall in different parts of the state has created fear among the people. Due to the rain, the rivers and streams flowing in eastern Rajasthan are overflowing. Due to this, many small dams in this area are overflowing. However, western Rajasthan has received less rainfall as compared to eastern Rajasthan. Due to this, many dams there are still waiting for a good inflow of water.

There are 691 big and small dams in the state
According to the irrigation department, the total filling capacity of 691 big and small dams in the state is 12900.82 million cubic. So far, a total of 7162.65 million cubic water has come in 514 dams. This is 55.52 percent of the total filling capacity. There are 22 big and 669 medium and small dams in Rajasthan. 142 dams are completely filled. So far, ten dams have overflowed. If the pace of rain continues, there will be a good inflow of water in the dams.

There is a good inflow of water in Bisalpur dam
There is a good inflow in Bisalpur dam, which quenches the thirst of Jaipur, Ajmer, Tonk, Dausa, Dudu and Kekri districts. Earlier, drinking water was supplied to 11 districts from this dam. But now water is being supplied to only six districts from it. Due to heavy rains in the catchment area of ​​the dam, its water level has reached 312.25 meters. The total filling capacity of this dam is 315.50 meters. Currently, there is a sheet of 2.75 meters on the Triveni river and water is coming into the dam.

Dholpur’s Parvati dam is about to fill up
The water level of Parvati Dam located in Dholpur has reached 222.20 meters. The gates of this dam can be opened soon. The filling capacity of this dam is up to 223.41 meters. The water of the torrential rain in the catchment area of ​​​​Parvati Dam is continuously coming into the dam. This dam is empty by just 1.21 meters. It is expected to be filled by late tonight. The gates of Kota Barrage and Panchana Dam have been opened several times.
