Head will get place?
In the second match, Australia can give Travis Head a chance in his playing XI in place of David Warner. Australian media claimed this on Sunday. Australia’s ambitions to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy suffered a major setback on Saturday after being hammered by an innings and 132 runs inside three days in the Nagpur Test. Veteran opener David Warner’s poor form continued in the subcontinent as he was dismissed for another 10 runs in two innings. Warner has played 9 Tests in India so far. In this, he has only 399 runs at an average of 22.16.
Australia’s team was dismissed for just 91 runs in the second innings, which is their lowest score in India. According to a Sydney Morning Herald report, ‘sources close to the Australian team confirmed that discussions have been ongoing since David Warner’s double failure in the first Test.’ In the first innings, Warner was bowled by Mohammed Shami. Even after getting life in the second innings, he could not do wonders.
Kuhneman can debut
The report further states that left-arm finger spinner Matthew Kuhneman will get a chance to make his Test debut in New Delhi. He has been called to India as a replacement for reserve leg-spinner Mitch Swepson. Swepson is returning home for the birth of their child. Kuhneman also has experience of 4 ODIs. The second Test will be played in Delhi from 17 February.
