New Delhi: The return of the original ‘orange’ logo is just the beginning for Doordarshan. Sources told AnyTV that if the Narendra Modi government wins the ongoing Lok Sabha elections for the third time, it is planning several changes in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) and Prasar Bharati.
Sources said that DD India will be developed as a global brand with bureaus in 15 countries. Prasar Bharati’s SHABD portal will be developed as a global news agency by involving more than 1000 media organizations including foreign outlets. Also, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) hub has been planned in MIB and a Bharat Naman portal will be launched for the common citizens to access archival material and media.

This will happen in ‘Modi 3.0’
Apart from this, there is a plan to combat ‘fake news’ by announcing ‘Global Media and Entertainment Summit’ and expanding ‘PIB Fact-Check Unit’ to all regions. All this is part of the 100-day and five-year plan being prepared by the ministries on the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for ‘Modi 3.0’. The audio-visual network ‘SHABD’ is designed to provide daily news feeds in video, audio, text, photo and other formats to subscribers from across the media landscape and is powered by Prasar Bharati’s vast network of journalists, correspondents and stringers. Sources told AnyTV that efforts will be made to monetize it through reaching out to filmmakers and producers for commercial use.
