The India Alliance wants to complete all preparations on time for the assembly elections in Maharashtra. In this sequence, former Chief Minister of the state Uddhav Thackeray is on a three-day visit to Delhi. During this, he has met the leaders of the major parties of the India Alliance. But, the most important thing in this visit is that he has made a big deal with the Congress, the biggest party of the alliance.
An important meeting of Mahavikas Aghadi (India Alliance at the national level) was held at the residence of Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge. Information about this meeting has come to the fore that the roadmap for the assembly elections in Maharashtra has been decided. According to the information, in this meeting, there has been almost a consensus between the three parties on everything from seat sharing to the face of the Chief Minister. In Maharashtra, the Mahavikas Aghadi includes Shiv Sena Uddhav faction, Congress and NCP Sharad faction. It is expected that once again Uddhav Thackeray will be the face for the post of Chief Minister from the Mahavikas Aghadi.
Discussion on seat sharing
Meanwhile, formal discussions were also held between the constituent parties of the Mahavikas Aghadi on the distribution of seats for the assembly elections. According to sources, Congress is going to contest the maximum number of seats in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray faction is at second place and Nationalist Congress Party’s Sharad Pawar faction is at third place. There are 288 assembly seats in the state. In the last Lok Sabha elections, Congress has the maximum 14 seats (including one independent) out of the 48 Lok Sabha seats in the state. Then Shiv Sena Uddhav faction has nine seats and NCP Sharad faction has eight seats. On the other hand, in ADA, BJP has nine seats, Shiv Sena has seven and NCP has one seat.
Encouraged by the spectacular victory in the Lok Sabha elections, the leaders of the All India Alliance do not want to leave any stone unturned in the preparations for the assembly elections. This is why Uddhav Thackeray is currently on a visit to Delhi. Thursday is the third day of his Delhi visit. This is Uddhav Thackeray’s first visit to Delhi after the Lok Sabha elections and during his visit he has met many leaders.
